“A large school of mobula rays fades into the waters of Baja, Mexico. “The rays were moving quite fast and it was hard enough keeping up with them from the surface, let alone diving down to take a closer look,” writes photographer Eduardo Lopez Negrete. Mobula rays are often referred to as flying rays due to their fondness for breaching.” — the 2014 National Geographic Traveller Photo ContestLet’s also keep in mind that a mobula ray can reach 17 foot (5.2 meter) wingspan and weigh over a ton. Okay, so here’s an example of how the night went. We were allowed to wander around between the balloons, and every 5-10 minutes the nice guy with a megaphone would start counting down from ten. Once they reached ONE all the balloons lit up and it was awesome and beautiful and basically I didn’t want it to stop ever.

So you guys remember my obsession with hot air balloons and how I occasionally go on a reblog-everything-in-the-hot-air-balloon-tag spree?? Well guess what?!?! I officially have something to add to that tag! I went to a hot air balloon festival in my area last weekend! So don’t mind me, but my next posts are going to be a bunch of hot air balloon things.
